Treatment:

Flies are the most annoying and troublesome insects in households, sheds, and outdoors. They breed and feed in filth, including garbage and rotting or spoiled food. They also carry microorganisms from food and drinks, which ultimately cause infectious diseases like food poisoning, dysentery, and tuberculosis, etc.

But to get rid of flies, you have to get rid of the things that are attracting them and providing food and breeding sites. To avoid flies, sanitation is the first measure of defense. House fly control is not always as easy as it sounds, but we have some controlling methods for it.

Mechanical control:

We use sticky fly papers that include an odor attractant. The sticky paper is white or yellow because flies are attracted to its surface. We also use an ultraviolet light insect-o-cutor for long-term fly control. It is effective if it is properly placed where it attracts flies. We place it 5-6 feet above the floor, where most flies fly. It is very effective in restaurants and commercial buildings.

Chemical control:

People usually think of chemical control first for any pest control. We try to keep chemicals as our last option when we don’t have any other option, which is an IPM standard. We use formulated aerosols as a quick kill for flies, reducing populations of flies for short-term results. We use it in unoccupied rooms, such as closets and storage rooms. We spray chemicals around door and window casings, which are fly entry points. We also spray other areas where flies are resting.

Fly bait:

We use safe insecticide granule fly baits to control flies. We distribute these baits along walls, window sills, or other areas where flies enter inside buildings, and in areas outside where flies congregate. To make the bait more effective, removing sanitation, trash, and other sources is necessary. So the bait will be the only feeding source for flies. With this method, flies can be controlled easily. We also make sure that the baits are inaccessible to animals or children.
